Good bones, missed the mark
Stored and smoked at 65% RH. Starts nutty and earthy, the criollo bready/hay fills the middle of the palate. Second third and retro deliver cedar, some sweetness, earth, and pepper. Final third went heavy into the dry hay/floral Dominican funk region, pepper, and earth.
The best way I can summarize this cigar is it’s reminiscent of Don Pepin Blue or Aganorsa Arsenio but fell a few feet short. There’s two big problems that prevent me from giving this higher rating 1) final third was a cliff. purging didn’t help. 2) light pack and quick burn – think I got 40mins out of it; normally for a cigar this size, I run about 1hr. The highlights were really good, 4.5/5 stars territory, but unfortunately the lows were also really low.
