The Serino Taíno was created by Anthony and Carson Serino in collaboration with master blender Omar González-Alemán as a tribute to the Taíno people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Caribbean who are widely credited as the first people to roll and smoke tobacco. Produced at La Corona Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, the blend combines an Ecuadorian Habano Medio wrapper, an Estelí Corojo ’99 binder, and Nicaraguan fillers from Ometepe, Estelí, and Jalapa, featuring both Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 tobaccos.

Medium-bodied and highly nuanced, the Taíno delivers a profile centered around cracked cedar, marzipan, white chocolate, orange peel, and gentle spice. The Corojo and Criollo tobaccos provide structure and complexity, while the Ecuadorian Habano wrapper adds sweetness and aromatic depth. Designed to be approachable for newer smokers yet layered enough for seasoned enthusiasts, the Taíno captures the balance, character, and heritage that define the Serino portfolio.

Subpar. Better as a scented candle

I had forgotten about the blend on this one, I just remembered some podcast of hipsters hyping it up (along with wayfarer). Lit it up and couldn’t get into it. I did get to the start of the final third before laying it down, so it’s not terrible, but I’d rather smoke a lot of other things. The notes that I couldn’t see beyond was a metallic minerality and sharp almost salty citrus notes. I mention the blend because, there it is: Ometepe. Not all Ometepe is bad, but one underaged batch or unbalanced blend is all it takes to never forget.

Room note was kinda pleasant though. Slightly floral and sweet.

Bitter sour wood

This was not for me at all. I even cut it down to the second third to slip ahead after not liking it am inch in, and it still was more of the same. Stopped smoking it. The wayfarer is phenomenal, but this Taino is not for me
