The MBombay Gaaja Natural is a deeply aged, box-pressed cigar from Bombay Tobak, handcrafted at Tabacos de Costa Rica. Named after Gaja, the elephant symbol associated with patience in Hindu mythology, Gaaja was created by Mel Shah after years of development to deliver a cigar with rich flavor, balance, and smoothness without overwhelming strength. The blend is highly specific, featuring an Ecuador Connecticut Desflorado Hybrid Mejorado 2004 wrapper, an Ecuador HVA Mejorado Seco binder, and a complex filler recipe of Dominican HVA Mejorado Ligero, Dominican Criollo ’98 Viso, Ecuador Criollo ’98 Viso, Peruvian Hybrid Habano, and Paraguayan Hybrid Habano 2000 Viso.
Medium-bodied and exceptionally refined, Gaaja Natural delivers a smooth profile of toasted cedar, sweet tobacco, nuts, cream, cereal, wood, earth, and gentle black pepper, with touches of coffee and natural sweetness adding depth. The extended aging process gives the cigar its polished character, allowing the multi-country filler blend to develop complexity while staying elegant and balanced. Complex without being heavy, Gaaja Natural is ideal for smokers who appreciate nuanced, aged tobaccos, refined construction, and a mellow-to-medium profile with real depth.

I found the description of the cigar to be very accurate and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it didn’t take the normal last third dip for me. Smoked it to the nub. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was I just wanted a touch more sweetness to balance out the rest of the flavors. If you haven’t tried this before, it’s definitely worth it.
Maybe it’s suggestive by the name, but this was an abundance of exotic Indian spices. Creamy coffee and mild citrus. First two thirds were unique and very good, but final third got incredibly bitter. I’d prefer a touch more sweetness, but I’d absolute smoke this (first 2/3!) again. Good cigar.
